All you smartphone lovers, HTC Droid Incredible is debuting today on the Verizon Wireless network.
The new device will have to find a place for itself in an already crowded smartphone market with state-of-the-art handsets from Google, Blackberry and Apple. Android-based phones have become remarkably popular this year and the HTC-developed Incredible is expected to emerge as the leader for some time.
Verizon HTC Droid Incredible weighs just 4.59 ounces and has an unusual topographic backplate with red accents. The phone comes with a 8-megapixel camera, a 3.7-inch touch-screen display and a 1 GHz processor, all these features are absent in iPhone. The Incredible runs on Google’s latest OS, Android 2.1, and has HTC Sense, which allows the users to have an easy access to things like Facebook, Twitter, text messages and weather.

It has Wi-Fi, turn-by-turn GPS navigation and push e-mail from Gmail and Exchange. Its voice clarity is amazing and the incoming calls sound is at par with Motorola Droid or the iPhone. But this phone has certain limitations also, like you can’t access data over the 3G wireless network using the Incredible, a feature which is present in iPhone.
Customers, who are willing to purchase this phone direct with Verizon will have to pay $199.99 for a 2-year agreement. A new Verizon customer can opt for Wirefly and acquire the Droid Incredible for $149.99.
Experts are of the view that Incredible is the best smartphone currently on the market, but the company will have to face tough competition this summer, when Apple will release its new version of the iPhone.
