MLB Trade Rumors : Cliff Lee, Jayson Werth Set To Join New York Yankees

If MLB Trade Rumors are to be believed, Cliff Lee and Jayson Werth are set to join the New York Yankees. According to reports, a deal could be finalized by the end of the day. Reports added that Lee’s stint with Yankees is a reward for his fantabulous performance in recent times. It’s also being speculated that Yankees will release Javier Vasquez to the Philadelphia Phillies for right-fielder Jayson Werth.

The move has come like a surprise for many, as the reported deal hasn’t been the Yankee’s style of trading key prospects for star veteran players. It’s notable that after Brian Cashman assumed more authority and the Steinbrenner sons took over the baton from King George, things haven’t been same for Yankees.

It’s believed that once these deals turn out, the Yankees would be requiring more room against Tampa Bay Rays, which have once again gained momentum. Rays have so far clinched six victories in a row, eight in their last 10 outings.
