A new survey has found that the owners of recently released Verizon iPhone 4 reported fewer dropped calls than the users of AT&T iPhone 4. It is to be noted that before the release of Verizon iPhone 4, AT&T was the sole carrier of the iPhone in the US.
The survey was done by ChangeWave and the firm compares the AT&T iPhone 4 owners and Verizon iPhone 4 owners. According to the survey released on Tuesday, 4,068 respondents showed that 4.8 percent of AT&T iPhone 4 owners experienced a dropped call on their handset in the last three months, while dropped call was experienced by only 1.8 percent of Verizon subscribers.
ChangeWave also conducted an industry-wide, non-iPhone-specific poll and the result of this poll was similar to the result of the survey mentioned above. In this poll, 4.6 percent of AT&T subscribers reported dropped calls, while only 1.4 percent of Verizon customers reported the same. ChangeWave also surveyed prospective future iPhone 4 buyers, most of which showed their interest in buying the handset on Verizon's network. Around 46 percent of respondents said they are likely to choose Verizon, while 27 percent showed interest in buying AT&T’s iPhone. Around 27 percent of the respondents said they are yet to make up their mind over selecting their network or did not choose AT&T or Verizon.
"Verizon is still in the very early stages of its iPhone 4 offering to consumers," ChangeWave said, noting that the CDMA iPhone 4 just launched in February "It remains to be seen how well the Verizon network performs as the number of Verizon iPhone 4 owners ramps up and inevitably puts more pressure on their system."
