People magazine reported on Thursday that the America Ferrera has got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, aspiring director Ryan Piers Williams.
America Ferrera was also spotted wearing her engagement ring at at the Edinburgh Film Festival screening of "The Illusionist" in Scotland. The news of the engagement has been confirmed by her representatives to the People magazine.
The 26 year old, 'Ugly Betty' star met her boyfriend, 26 year old Williams, while they were students together at the University of Southern California. Ferrera was cast in a student movie directed by Williams.
Ferrera comes from a Hondura immigrant family and is the youngest of six children in her family. She made her break in films such as "Real Women Have Curves" and "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" before landing her "Ugly Betty" gig, for which she won an Emmy in 2007.
