The US yesterday announced the squad for the upcoming football world cup 2010 in South Africa.

Coach Bob Bradley has ignored Charlie Davies, who is recovering from an auto accident, in the 30-man roster. Alejandro Bedoya, who is performing for Orebro in Sweden, is included in the side.

“It’s massive — to think he’s been a pro for 15 months and he’s selected. To be honest, to think he’s with guys who are playing in the Premiership, he’s not there, yet. But this is a testimony to his dedication and work rate, he’s such a hard worker,” BC coach Ed Kelly said of Bedoya.

The selected players will attend a training camp starting June 15 in Princeton, N.J.. The US will play warmup games against the Czech Republic on June 25 and against Turkey on June 29.

Bradley selected six forwards: Jozy Altidore, Edson Buddle, Brian Ching, Robbie Findley, Herculez Gomez, and Eddie Johnson. Former Revolution star Clint Dempsey is named as a midfielder.
