Sweet 16 NCAA tournament: Tennessee reaches Elite Eight 2010, Perfect Bracket of Autistic Kid
At a semifinal game in the midwest region, no. 2-seeded Ohio state was defeated by no. 6-seeded Tennessee. It means that for the first time entering a regional final are the Volunteers (28-8).
The Volunteers will face Michigan State Spartans in the Eight Elite match. Spartans reach the final after defeating Northern Iowa in a different Midwest game of NCAA tournament.
J.P. Prince, the star of the Volunteers team, said, " just proud of my teammates and proud of the whole university. We’e been through a lot of adversity. I think we actually deserved a victory. We worked hard,". Prince called it a victory of team effort. But the game is not over in Prince's opinion who feels that this is the best time for the Volunteers to make their rally into Final Four.
The fantastic victory over Big Ten was spearheaded by Volunteers' Prince and Scotty Hopson.
Wayne Chism scored 22 points along with 11 rebounds while Brain Williams scored 9 points. Price passed six assists along with scoring 14 points against Ohio state. National player of the year hopeful Eavn Turner was stopped from shooting a 3-pointer by Prince with his alert defense. Still Ohio state star Turner could score 31 points, 7 rebounds along with 5 assists.
