Sun Microsystems Software Guru James Gosling Resigns from Oracle

James Gosling, best known as the father of the Java programming language, has left Oracle just a few months after it had acquired Sun Microsystems.
Gosling wrote in a blog post on Friday that he resigned on April 2. “As to why I left, it’s difficult to answer: Just about anything I could say that would be accurate and honest would do more harm than good.”
The 54 year old Gosling is a well-known computer scientist and to many an icon of the free-spirited early days of Silicon Valley. He is generally credited as the inventor of the Java programming language in 1994[3]. He created the original design of Java and implemented its original compiler and virtual machine. For this achievement he was elected to the United States National Academy of Engineering. He has also made major contributions to several other software systems, such as NeWS and Gosling Emacs. He co wrote the "bundle" program, a utility thoroughly detailed in Brian Kernighan and Rob Pike's book The Unix Programming Environment.
“The hardest part is no longer being with all the great people I’ve had the privilege to work with over the years. I don’t know what I’m going to do next, other than take some time off before I start job hunting.” Gosling wrote in his blog.
