Once the queen of American Idol, Paula Abdul now wants to give competition to the show. She is in talks with ABC and is in the process of finalizing a show on the lines of Star Search, a TV show which was a rage in the 1980’s.
Though the ABC network is not ready to comment but there are media reports saying that Abdul who is 47 could be hosting as well as judging the show, in fact, juggle between the two activities. The show could be launched in this summer.
The original Star Search was hosted by Ed Mc Mahon and started from 1983 to 1995. This program also featured comedy, modeling and dancing as well as singing. Many stars like Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears performed in this show in the early 90’s.
The show was once again brought on screen in 2003, by CBS and was hosted by Arsenio Hall but the whole event fizzled out in not time. Meanwhile, Abdul left American Idol in last August after an unprecedented alliance for 8 long years.
