Simon Cowell on Larry King Live
He will be bidding farewell to “American Idol” after this season but Simon Cowell has not being forthright in sharing sentiments in public.
But on the occasion of “Larry King Live” where the judges and Ryan Seacrest were promoting this week's “Idol”, Cowell surprisingly stated that the bickering shown live on television between him and Seacrest was show- off and they are good friends in real life.
“No, we get on fine,” says Cowell.
Ellen DeGeneres felt that these two men were like brothers, and they had no tension between them. “I think that Ryan likes to see what he can do to push Simon's buttons. And Simon likes to see what he can so to push Ryan's buttons. And they do it to each other. That's just the way they play,” said Ellen.
DeGeneres also shared that she was enjoying the first season, but she found it hard than she expected. “It's really hard,” she comments. “It's easy to sit at home and have opinions, but when those kids are waiting for you to tell them how they sounded and, you know, sometimes I hear myself go,'I liked it.'
DeGeneres also said that she has a five year deal and Seacrest confirmed that he signed a contract for two more seasons. While Jackson and Dioguardi has two more years to go.
Seacrest told King that “Idol Gives Back” has raised around $140 million for various charitable purpose, and the judges get on to a discussion about their travels to visit the corporates for fund-raising or elimination show. Post the sabbatical of one year, the third edition will feature Justin Bieber, Elton John, Alicia Keys, Carrie Underwood and the Black Eyed Peas.
