Sacha Baron Cohen Marries Longtime Girlfriend Isla Fisher
Commedian Sacha Baron Cohen has finally married Australian actress Isla Fisher, his longtime girlfriend, fiancé, and mother of his two-year-old daughter, Olive.
"Borat" Baron Cohen declared it in an e-mail to his friends according to Women's Day, saying, "We did it – we're married! it was the absolute best day of my life and in so many beautiful moments I missed you all so much. I thought of you as everything was happening, but Sacha and I wanted no fuss – just us!"
Australian magazine Woman’s Day revealed that only a few relatives were present to witness the couple tie the knot in a Jewish ceremony in Paris last Monday.
The dream has finally come true for the couple, who have been seeing each other for the last eight years. They had got engaged in 2004. To marry Baron, “Wedding Crashers” star Fisher had converted to Judaism and got the Hebrew name Ayala.
Ayala said: "I love religions and find them fascinating and I find Judaism very beautiful. It has enriched my life enormously.“
While Isher will be seen in the black comedy Burke & Hare for Animal House, in which she is currently working, Invention of Hugo Cabret will feature Baron Cohen, for which he will shoot in Paris.
38-year-old Baron Cohen is known for his mysterious silence, as he rarely talks to the press. He had already indirectly made it clear to everybody that he would be marrying Fisher, when he told the media, "I would very much like to find an Australian wife. My preference is for woman who has more hair on head than back."
34-year-old Fisher is best known for Wedding Crashers and Confessions of a Shopaholic. In 2005, she told a British newspaper: "Sacha makes me laugh more than anyone, which is why I'm marrying him. I find weddings really boring. They give speeches, your aunt kisses you on the cheek, and you're at a boring table. But it's different when it's your own."
