Obama set to Overhaul 'No Child Left Behind' Education Law
President Barack Obama is promising parents of U.S. school children that his administration is going to get better education to their children.
On Saturday in a Video address Obama promised better teachers and schools to US children who will receive the education that can get them into colleges and careers of their choice.
Obama Administration explained that the 2002 Education need to be overhauled so that the education officials concentrate more on rewarding schools for their progress rather that punishing schools for being up to mark. Also it was said that the existing education system focuses on providing an education that gets students just get through their grades which needs to be changed to a system which focuses on getting children the education that will help them going into colleges or getting into a career.
President said in the video address, "Unless we take action - unless we step up - there are countless children who will never realize their full talent and potential. I don't accept that future for them. And I don't accept that future for the United States of America."
The present education law was put into effect by then President George W. Bush who called it 'No Child Left Behind' law. President Obama is all set to send in the changes to the law to Congress on Monday.
