Next Generation Motorola Droid Leaked
Motorola was on the verge of shutting down its range of mobile phones till Motorola Droid was launched. The model then scripted an amazing turnaround for the company with an amazing comeback of sorts.
It went on to become of the success stories of Motorola in 2010. Droid owed its success to a combination of Android OS, good hardware and an excellent advertising.
The model is now a little dated after being in the market for more than six months. There are rumor doing the round that the company is contemplating an upgrade and that has generated quite a bit of interest.
In case of Motorola there is a new phenomenon instead of the usual leak of images. Verizon Getting Started manual has confirmed the existence of the Motorola Droid 2 which features MotoBlur.
The manual however does not provide much details of the product except the fact that the phone would be extremely fast.
While the pricing of the phone has not yet been decided, with the features that are expected of the phone, a July launch is highly unlikely.
Some of the expected features of the phone include:
4.1-inch TFT full-WVGA touchscreen display
Android 2.1 (upgradeable to Android 2.2)
8MP camera with HD (720p) video recording
1080p output via HDMI port
TI OMAP 3630 processor (probably at 720 MHz)
2GB of built-in memory
The plan of a likely July launch is primarily to offset the launch of iPhone from Apple and also to supercede the HTC Droid Incredible.
