On Saturday New York almost came to a stand still because of heavey rain and strong winds. Power went out affecting about half a million subscribers and travel became the real big problem around New York metropolitan area.

The rain and wind were also blamed for 2 deaths.

Winds with speed of over 60 miles per hour made a tree fall onto a house in Hartsdale, New York and also spread a fire damaging many homes on Jersey Shore.

National Weather Service had predicted that 2 to 4 inches of rain was expected before Sunday ends also the area was put under flood watch.

Traveling by sea was also no better as the Staten Island Ferry service was suspended for about four hours Saturday night because of the high winds.
