New Windows Phones from Microsoft: KIN One, KIN two
Microsoft’s much awaited pink phones have finally been launched at an event at San Francisco.
The windows based Kin phones are specially designed for the social networking enthusiasts. The two variants are Kin one and KIN two where the first is a pink phone while the other is a pure model. KIN phones will be available exclusively from Verizon Wireless in the U.S. beginning in May and will be available through Vodafone in Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom in Autumn.
Both the phones have a Windows 7 OS and have high end features like Loop, Spot and Studio. KIN loop allows user to connect to Facebook, Twitter and My Space for the ones who are enthused about being connected.
Kin Spot, other than having features like messaging, photos, videos etc also has features like Zune media player which allows users to play music and run videos. However, gaming support is not provided at the moment but is expected to be incorporated with the newer versions.
For Mac users, Microsoft will offer special application to load music from Mac systems (no it's not a Mac version of Zune software).
KIN one has a slider and comes with a 5.0 megapixel camera, SD video and 4GB internal memory while KIN two has a full blown QWERTY keypad with a 8.0 megapixel camera and 8 GB internal memory. Both of them have emoticons and Bing search.
Neither of the phones carries any link or setting that connects to Zune Marketplace or any App market. There are no plans to introduce any sorts of apps for KIN devices. Also the firmware updates will be downloadable over-the-air and no data-tethering is offered. Big boo-boo for SanDisk as neither of the devices sports microSD card slots.
