Motorola Android 3.0 Tablet: If rumors are to be believed, Motorola is working on an iPad killer Tablet, which runs on Google’s mobile operating system Android 3.0, a yet-to-be-announced updation of Android OS. So far, Android 2.2 has been formally announced as the new update of the popular google operating system.
Analysts Roger Crenshaw and Ashok Kumar have said that Motorola might launch the secret tablet in the US market by the end of this year. They added that the tablet would run on so called “Gingerbread" version of Android, which is not available with any other device presently.
Motorola is the manufacturer of the Droid, which its top-selling Android smartphone in the country. Motorola is also a prominent smartphone maker that has been promoting and marketing Google’s high end operating system, also considered as rival to Apple’s iOS.
Reports added that Asus and Lenovo are planning to launch their own Android tablets. On the other hand it seems that HP has decided to do away plans to launch a competing WebOS platform. Itproportal.com claims that a Motorola Android tablet would be loaded with 512 MB of RAM, run on an ARM processor, and the option for removable storage like a memory card.
The news comes amid rumors that Motorola’s latest hit Droid X would be updated to Android 2.2 very soon. Android is one of the main factors behind Motorola’s re-entry into the smartphone industry. The Droid series of Motorola has been very popular. Its Droid X is pit against Apple’s iPhone 4, which has come under scanner over its network issues. The antenna menace has helped Droid X gain more popularity than expected. And reports are that the handset is out of stock across the Verizon stores in the nation until August 4.
