Motorola Droid X Sells Out On Very First Day
Motorola's new device- the Droid X, which was released by Verizon on Thursday is doing superb business and the smartphone is sold out at retail outlets and online stores across the country, reported PC World. If you have failed to buy one, then you have to wait until July 23 because Verizon won't replenish its stock until then.
It may be recalled that a few weeks ago, Sprint, which is the exclusive carrier of HTC's hugely popular Evo 4G, had announced that it sold more than 300,000 Evo 4G handsets. The demand was more than the production capabilities of the Taiwan-based HTC. Verizon Wireless has also witnessed the shortfall problems with the Droid Incredible, but the carrier yesterday assured the Droid fanatics that the launch of the Droid X would not be hampered by the shortages.
"While we are currently experiencing delays on orders of one of our more popular phones. We view that as an anomaly driven by a combination of supply and popularity. At present, we feel that we have done everything possible to ensure we have inventory to meet customer needs around the Droid X – the proof will be in the execution on July 15," Verizon Wireless spokeswoman Brenda Raney told CNET. "
Their is no denying the fact that Droid X- which boasts of a huge 4.3 inch screen, a 8-megapixel camera and the Android 2.1 operating system – is going to attract lots of customers. Motorola and Verizon have to make sure that the supply shortage should not affect the interest which the device has generated among the Android lovers.
