Country star Miranda Lambert, who recently won four prizes at Academy of Country Music Awards, is developing a hour-long drama series for ABC Family, reported Hollywood Reporter. The project is based on the time spent by the singer in Texas when she was growing up.
The series would revolve around a family where the parents are private investigators and they are helped in their investigation by their children. It is learnt that besides developing the series, Lambert would serve as executive producers with her mother.
Lambert and her younger brother grew up in Lindale, TX, according to Deadline. Her father Richard Lee "Rick" Lambert is a retired police officer and shortly after retiring he became a private investigator in partnership with Lambert’s mother. Scott Kaufer of "Memphis Beat" will assist Lambert in developing the series. Kaufer is also one of the executive producers.
The 28-year-old Lambert became famous as a finalist on the 2003 season of Nashville Star after finishing in third place. She then signed to Epic Records and made her debut with the release of "Me and Charlie Talking", the first single from her debut album Kerosene, which released in 2005. This album was certified Platinum in the United States. All four singles in this album were Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.
Lambert was transferred to Columbia Records after the closure of Epic's Nashville division. She recorded her second album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, with them. The album was released in early 2007 and three singles ("Famous in a Small Town", "Gunpowder & Lead", and "More Like Her") of this album were Top 20 hits.
