Quite some time has passed since King of Pop Michael Jackson left this world, yet he keeps making news even after his demise. Even as his death continues to be doubted as murder, his estate has made history’s biggest recording deal with Sony Corp, which is more than $200 million (£133million), to help Jackson heirs pay off the star’s long-drawn-out debts.
Sony had earlier signed a deal with Jackson's estate for selling his albums until new albums until 2015, but the new deal extends the limit to 2017. With this contract, dozens of Jackson’s unreleased songs will be released along with the repackaged versions of his existing albums, which are likely to cover classics "Off the Wall" and "Bad." It has been reported that the contract is likely to include the soundtrack to “This Is It,” a recent movie.
Since his death, Sony has already sold 31 million copies of his albums, showing the star is still in demand even after his doubtful death, which a few see as homicide. His death had come at a time when the singer was all set to make a comeback in London.
His untimely death has left a massive debt for his family to pay off, which will now be paid off by selling his music and memorabilia.
