Lawson Software has introduced new data analytics software, which will allow its healthcare customers to get a better insight into their staffing, operations, supply chain costs, and other metrics. We know that healthcare organizations always face financial pressures but the introduction of healthcare reform has made the situation all the more challenging as hospitals deal with the emergence of new accountable care organizations, changes in reimbursement for care and some other related developments.
If healthcare providers manage to improve process efficiencies, optimize supply chains, and hone in on labor costs, it could provide savings. The data for the Lawson Analytics for Healthcare are extracted from Lawson systems, which include enterprise resource planning applications, as well as non-Lawson applications, including workforce management systems from other vendors, helping hospital administrators, clinical managers. It also includes other authorized users to measure, monitor in helping them find ways to improve financial and operational performance.
Bob Ainsbury, VP of industry strategy for Lawson Healthcare, said that the software comes bundled with a series of healthcare operational metrics, but it also allows the customers to set up their own queries and measurements. Jerry Driscoll, director of supply chain systems at Catholic Health East, a non-profit integrated health delivery network, said that they are already using Lawson's new analytic software in more than two dozen hospitals of their hospitals on the east coast. CHE has been using Lawson financial, HR, payroll, and supply chain software since 2003. The new Lawson Analytics for Healthcare software will allow the company to deepen its presence in the healthcare sector.
