According to a report, Acer will introduced the first Chrome OS-based device in two weeks. The tech blog said that Acer will unveil the devices at Computex Taipei on June 1. The event is held every year to showcase computer and electronics equipments.
Chrome OS was introduced by Google last year and it is designed to work on Netbooks, smartbooks, and tablets. Late last year, Acer had said that it would release a Chrome OS Netbook in mid-2010.
Acer Chairman J.T. Wang also announced that his company become the first firm in the world to launch a Chrome OS device and it seems that Wang will prove himself true.
Not many Netbook makers in the world are committed to work with Google on the OS. In November, Dell showed a demonstration of Chrome OS on one of its Netbook, but the company said that it was still to take a final call.
