Kevin Garnett Suspended, To Miss Game 2 against Heat
Bad news for Celtics fans as their star defender Kevin Garnett has been suspended by NBA for Game 2 of the first-round series against the Heat for elbowing Miami’s Richardson.
The Celtics had limited Garnett’s minutes this season, with a plan to use his skills during the playoffs.
During the match, Garnett, who missed last year’s playoffs due to inury, nudged Richardson with his elbow, leading Richardson to get in Garnett’s face.
Talking to reporters, Garnett said, “I would just say you can’t let your emotions get the best of you. You have to sort of bite down a little bit and understand the situation you’re in. But it’s an emotional game. It’s a very high-intensity game.” He added, “Everybody’s playing with those same high emotions on both sides and it’s aggressive out there. At some point you have to be in control of yourself.’’
