Tween pop idol Justin Bieber today appealed to his fans to show some patience after his hat was stolen and his mother got knocked by a crowd, which had assembled outside an airport in New Zealand to greet the Canadian singer as he arrived in the country.
The mad rush came after Australian police canceled Bieber's live performance in Sydney when a crowd of about 5,000 teenage girls got out of control in order to catch a glimpse of the star. The crowd crush left eight youngsters injured and many others passed off.
Bieber is traveling across the globe to promote his album "My World 2.0," and the fan frenzy has led people to compare the Canadian singer's tour with The Beatles tour in the 1960s.
"Finally got to New Zealand last night. The airport was crazy. Not happy that someone stole my hat and knocked down my mama. Come on people... I want to be able to sign and take pics and meet my fans but if you are all pushing security won't let me," Bieber wrote on Twitter.
Bieber gained popularity after her mother posted videos of him singing at talent shows on Youtube. Rapper Usher's record label Island Def Jams Music Group entered into a contract with Bieber, when was just 14. "My World 2.0" has moved to the top spot on the Billboard charts in the United States in just one week.
