John Forsythe Dead at 92: Remembered for His Roles in Dynasty, Charlies Angels and Bachelor Father

John Forsythe who became famous for his portrayal of the oil tycoon, Blake Carrington in popular television series "Dynasty" died Thursday. He was 92.

Along with Dynasty he is also remembered for his roles in television series "Bachelor Father," and "Charlie's Angels".

His publicist Harlon Boll informed that Mr. Forsythe died at his Santa Ynez home from pneumonia complications. He was hospitalized in 2006 for colon cancer and had undergone a heart bypass surgery in 1979.

The gifted actor began his career on Broadway first appearing in "Mister Roberts" and then doing the lead role in hit comedy "Teahouse of the August Moon". He worked in many movies too like Alfred Hitchcock's "The Trouble With Harry" and "Topaz."

John Forsythe's wife Julie died in 1994. They had been married for more than 50 years. In 2002, He is survived by his second wife Nicole Carter who he married in 2002, and his son, Dall; daughters, Page Courtemanche and Brooke Forsythe; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
