Israeli Prime Minister Adamant on East Jerusalem Construction Issue
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has refused to budge on the East Jerusalem construction issue.
Mr. Netanyahu was speaking to his cabinet Sunday while the U.S. envoy on Middle East peace reached Israel in an effort to try to initiate indirect talks between both sides.
The issue at hand is the settlement construction in East Jerusalem on the land that was taken over during Arab-Israeli war. Palestinians are demanding a stop to these constructions.
The Israeli Prime Minister is to go to Washington to meet with congressional leaders and speak to pro-Israel lobbying group.
Before he leaves the U.S. envoy is supposed to meet him Sunday.
Meanwhile reportedly 2 palestinians were killed in Israeli-occupied West Bank today by Israeli troops claiming that the 2 were trying to stab an Israeli soldier near Nablus.
U.N. chief Ban Ki-Moon visited Gaza Sunday and was very critical of Israeli blockade of the Hamas controlled areas.
