The Indiana hit and run case has been solved. Yes, the person who was suspected of killing a construction worker by running him over has been identified. The deceased was actually repairing pot holes on Interstate 80 road which is near to Lake Station when the car hit him and he died on the spot.

The killer has been identified as Robert Shannon who was the driver of the 1993 Mercury Cougar that hit 45-year-old Christopher Jenkins and killed him. Jenkins was from Valparaiso, Indiana. He was one of the two workers repairing the pot holes on the Interstate 80 road which is just two lanes of the Ripley Street when the incident happened, according to a release from Indiana State Police.

Meanwhile, according to Indiana State Police, Shannon, who is the killer called a friend from a payphone asking for help revealing the mess that he was in.

However, the friend was a vigilant country-man and instead of helping him in the crime notified the police that Shannon called him up and then he guided the police near the payphone at Central Avenue and Clay Street, the release said.
Shannon was immediately recognized as he was having the same clothing that was reported by some of the people who could catch a glimpse of him at the time of the crash. Authorities said that Shannon was hiding through out the day.

After getting hit the deceased was thrown onto the windshield of the car, landing on the driver, who then fled away from the scene. Workers who were present at the scene gave the description of the driver to the police.
