Amidst hue and cry of mismanagement and bad performance of its SUV’s as well as luxury class segment, car manufacturer Honda has hit a road block. Literally so! Joining the likes of Ford and Toyota, Honda has decided to recall more than 4 lakh vehicles from the market, the reason being persisting problem with the braking system.

The car manufacturer has recalled about 4, 10,000 Odyssey minivans and Elements which reminds us of the years 2007 and 2008 when a huge recall was made. Honda has about 8 dealerships in the Sacramento region. According to California New Car dealers Association in Sacramento, the Odyssey minivans were regarded as one of the best. Honda is the 2nd largest car manufacturer in California after Toyota.

The braking problem comes out of the electronic stability control system and what is happening that during emergency situations it is becoming increasingly difficult apply proper braking system to the car. If a small amount of air comes into the hydraulic brake line and with time it turns into an air bubble then it becomes difficult for the drivers as they have to push the paddle much more than what they do normally.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration three crashes happened in recent few days for which the root cause was the braking problem. So Honda has agreed for a recall. As the parts are not available so quickly and readily Honda will contact the owners of Odyssey and Element and then contact them and then repair the fault. After April customers facing such a problem with their vehicles can check if their vehicle is on the recall list on www.recalls.honda.com and or dial 800-999-1009 and select the option 4. Well this is the 2nd recall for Honda in 2 months. They recalled about 952,000 vehicles from the market in the month of February due to air bag problems.

However, in comparison with Toyota the figure still resembles some respectability as Toyota has recalled about 8 million-plus-vehicles in the past few months. They have recalled their best sellers the Camry and the Corolla from the market due to sudden braking and acceleration problems. Another recall was that of the Toyota Hybrid Prius which also faced similar problems like sudden acceleration and braking mal-functions. Meanwhile, Ford has also recalled Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan hybrid models for similar problems.
