Hamburger SV gave out their decision about Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero’s outrageous behavior of throwing a water bottle at a fan when his team was not able to score against Hannover on Sunday and the game ended in a draw. The club has laid down a heavy fine on the striker.
As per the reports in Bild, the club has laid down a fine between €50,000 and €100,000 on Guerrero. The Club further added that the total amount of the fine will be donated to charity of his choice.
Guerrero has apologized to his fans and the club on the official Hamburg website. He said after the game result he had a blackout and was feeling insulted and that’s the reason which made him overreact. He is sorry for his behavior. He hopes to get a chance to meet that fan in person and apologize. He further added that he has already apologized to his club for his act and said that he will accept any fine that the club hands to him.
The striker has just returned to the game after a long span on the sidelines as result of a severe knee injury.
The German Football Association can still decide to suspend the Peruvian international star for his behavior.
