Former Giants Star Lawrence Taylor Arrested For Rape
Former Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor has been arrested for rape in New York today. The police added that the NFL Hall of Famer will face third-degree rape charge involving a 15-year-old girl at a hotel in Montebello, N.Y.
Taylor was arrested early this morning by the Town of Ramapo police. The police will hold a news conference expected later today to give more details.
Ramapo police supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence said, “She was a runaway since March and there was a pimp involved. She got punched in the face. We’re not sure who did it.”
On his part, Ramapo Detective Lt. Brad Weidel added that the 51-year-old NFL star had not been formally charged. Weidel added that the charges will be filed only after the investigation gets over.
Taylor has a history of breaking the law. In the past he has been accused of using drugs. He tested positive for cocaine in 1987 and was suspended by the NFL for one month in 1988 for testing positive. Taylor had accepted in his autobiography that he resumed heavy cocaine usage after retirement.
