Jean Becker, chief of staff for former president George H.W. Bush informs that former first lady Barbara Bush, 84, was on Saturday admitted to Methodist Hospital in Houston for routine testing. Mr. Bush drove his wife to the hospital.

Jean Becker also said that it was not an emergency adding, "She really isn't in any pain, and she's in excellent spirits. She just hasn't been feeling like herself, and the doctor just decided the best thing would be to check her in. We definitely don't think it's serious. The doctors are just trying to pinpoint what's going on.”

The former first lady is expected to be released in a day or two said Becker.

Previously Mrs. Bush had been admitted to the same hospital in March 2009 after undergoing an open-heart surgery to replace an aortic valve.

Before that the former first lady was admitted in November 2008 to undergo surgery to repair a half-inch hole in her small intestine.
