Facebook Set To Open Operations Office in India
The biggest social networking site, Facebook, is set to open its operations office in Hyderabad, India. It will be Facebook’s first office in Asia.
Facebook has emerged as the largest social networking site in the world, with over 400 million users world over, of which 8 million are Indians. Hyderabad is India’s IT hub; therefore, Facebook has decided to cover its Asian operations from here to supplement its centers in Palo Alto, Austin, and Dublin.
Don Faul, director of global online operations says, "In India alone, we've seen rapid growth and now have more than 8 million people there actively connecting on Facebook,” adding that the center will “tap into the region’s strong pool of talented people who understand operations and technology, and help us more effectively serve the needs of our users, advertisers and developers.”
The decision comes as part of the company’s target of creating global operations centers across different time zones.
He further adds, “Having multiple support centers in a variety of time zones provides Facebook users and advertisers around the world with round-the-clock, multilingual support.”
There is another piece of good news for those seeking employment with the largest social networking site – it has vacancies in the United States, England, Ireland, Australia, Spain, Italy, France, Japan, Sweden, Germany, Canada, and India.
