Erica Blasberg Death Mystery: Caddie Missy Pederson Claims Blasberg Texted Her Hours Before Death
In a fresh development in the Erica Blasberg death case, Missy Pederson, Blasberg's caddie, told reporters that she discovered a text message from Blasberg on Sunday morning telling her she was not going to Alabama anymore.
Pederson was supposed to carry Blasberg's bag on Monday at a qualifying tournament in Mobile. The text was sent by Blasberg in the middle of the night which led a worried Pederson to send another message to Blasberg enquiring if everything was alright, but Blasberg never replied.
Blasberg, 25, was found dead in her Las Vegas home about 3 p.m. Sunday. The Southern Californian native, was in her sixth season on the LPGA, and had been hoping to win her way into the Bell Micro Classic, which kicks off Thursday in Mobile.
Blasberg's death has cast a shadow of gloom and sadness over the tournament.
She was more than a golfer," said Michelle Wie, who played on the Curtis Cup team with Blasberg.
"She was a really great person. She was always really sweet. Obviously (I'm) really sad about it."
While police is still investigating the matter, they say that the investigation could take upto six weeks. Police have not ruled out the possibility of suicide. Blasberg's father told FOXNews that the circumstances surrounding his daughter's death seem suspicious.
He had previously suggested to the police that his daughter might have committed suicide. He said authorities informed him that the 911 emergency service call was made by a local male golfer. The police as yet have declined to release the caller's identity.
