Elisabeth Hasselbeck Erin Andrews Fiasco Ends With Tearful Apology From Elisabeth
Elisabeth Hasselbeck along with "The View" co host Gabourey Sidibe had criticized ESPN’s Erin Andrews for wearing ‘next to nothing’ on the DWTS show. This statement made Erin cry.
Sidibe taking up the cudgels in Erin’s defence said, "She's getting paid to be half naked. She was not getting paid in that hotel room."
Erin said, "I think people can have opinions about the show, but my biggest complaint is she's a woman and a mother and it was a mockery of something I've lived through this last year. ... I felt like it was a slap in the face for victims of stalkers and victims of sexual predators." However, she has also said that she does not seek an apology from Elisabeth.
But apologize Elisabeth Hasselbeck did on Wednesday on The View and said that she regretted the remarks, where she said Andrews’s convicted stalker who filmed her through a hotel room peephole — could have avoided prison and seen almost as much of Andrews simply by watching this season of Dancing with the Stars.
Elisabeth said that she took advise of her young daughter and apologized to Erin as she was not feeling good about what she had said.
Other people who stood up to support Erin includes partner Maks Maks Chmerkovskiy, Dancing competitors Evan Lysacek and Niecy Nash, and pro Louis Van Amstel.
