Dana Plato's 25-Year-Old Son Tyler Lambert Commits Suicide
Tyler Lambert, the 25-year-old son of “Different Strokes” star, late Dana Plato, committed suicide last week.
Lambert’s grandmother Joni Richardson said that her grandson died of a self-inflicted gunshot to the head. Richardson added that Lambert was experimenting with drugs and alcohol. He was a cameraman and amateur songwriter.
"It's a shame that such a talented human being would do this with his life. He had all the opportunities in the world and we just can't understand it. ... He was talking so sweet to me on the phone that morning. But you never can tell what's in their mind," Richardson said.
Lambert’s mother Dana Plato died on May 8, 1999 of a prescription drug overdose at the age of 34. Lambert had struggled with his mother's death, noted Richardson. She added that Lambert's body will be cremated, and their will be no memorial.
