Celine Dion Pregnant, Expecting Twins With Husband Rene Angelil
Canadian singer Celine Dion is going to be a mother again. The star is in her 14th week of pregnancy and is expected to deliver twins. Kim Jakwerth, her spokesperson has confirmed this news to People magazine.
The star has become pregnant after her sixth in-vitro fertilization to get pregnant again. The Canadian pop star and her husband Rene Angelil already have a 9 year old son.
UsMagazine.com with reference to Dion's representative reported that she underwent her sixth in-vitro fertilization attempt along with acupuncture tratments to improve her changes of pregnancy. She is expected to find out about the gender of the twins next month.
Celine has had trouble having a second child and hence had undergone multiple rounds of in-vitro fertilization in an attempt to get pregnant. Both Celine and her husband Rene "are both extremely excited. But really, since this was the sixth time, they just want a healthy pregnancy,”
Celine's husband Angelil said, "We're ecstatic,". He also has three other children from his previous two marriages. He added, "Celine is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy. She was hoping for one baby and the news that we are having two is a double blessing."
Celine, winner of five Grammy Awards was pregnant with an embryo that had been frozen in liquid nitrogen for the past eight years. But the couple had informed last November that the IVF was unsuccessful.
Dion had told Oprah Winfrey on her show that she had a miscarriage. She said, "It's life. You know? A lot of people go through this, but it's not being told because it's not in the newspaper," She went on to add, "I will be the happiest one to tell you when I'm pregnant,"
"And if not, I'm the luckiest artist, especially wife and mother of a wonderful son. So I'm glad."
The singer recently spoke to US Weekly about her ongoing IVF procedure. "We are doing IVF and hoping for the best," Dion told Us at the time. "My greatest joy would be to announce I'm pregnant!"
