Cavaliers Coach Mike Brown Being Evaluated, Could Be Fired
Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert is evaluating coach Mike Brown, SportsIllustrated and ESPN have reported that the coach could be fired.
As per sources, Gilbert has made his decision but he has not yet officially announced it yet. "That's not true," he said during a news conference. "We are right now just going through the evaluation process."
Brown had won the NBA’s coach of the year award last year. He had also led the team to the playoffs in each of those seasons. Brown was criticized for Cleveland’s inability to get back to championship round in the last two years. Meanwhile as per a source who told SI.com, GM Danny Ferry is going to continue in near feature.
Brown was the league’s coach last year during which Cavs managed to win 66 games. After that the Cavs lost to the Celtics and by a margin of 50 points.
"It's one of those things that you can't believe it after it's happened," Gilbert said. "I feel bad for the fans more than anybody."
Two time MVP LeBron James has prepared for free agency due to the loss to the Celtics.
"Of course, we fully believe that, sweepstakes, in the running, whatever, I think this is the best franchise for him to play at," Gilbert said.
Also reports are emerging that Mike Wooden has been terminated by the Atlanta Hawks.
