Late Hollywood actress Brittany Murphy's screenwriter husband Simon Monjack has been found dead at his Hollywood Hills home, just five months after Brittany's death.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Monjack was found dead at his home in the Hollywood Hills. Sgt Louie Lozano added that Monjack, 39, died at the home in the 1800 block of Rising Glen Road. The cause of death is still unknown.
The news comes five months after the death Murphy, who died of pneumonia aged 32. Iron-deficiency anaemia and "multiple drug intoxication" were secondary factors in Brittany's death. "My world was destroyed yesterday," Simon Monjack told Access Hollywood after the death of his wife. Brittany had starred in Clueless, 8 Mile and Just Married.
Murphy married Monjack, from north London, in 2007. They tied the nuptial knot just months after Brittany ended her engagement to production assistant Joe Macaluso. Monjack wrote the original story of Factory Girl, strring Guy Pearce and Sienna Miller as pop artist Andy Warhol and his muse, Edie Sedgwick.
Earlier this year Monjack launched a charitable fund Brittany Murphy Foundation with Murphy's mother. The announcement to start the charity was made at an event at which guests were asked to give thousands of dollars. Later, it emerged that the foundation was registered as a not-for-profit body and the Foundation offered to refund donors.
