Britney Spears As Fashion Designer Launches First Collection For Candie's
All the fans of Britney Spears, the pop princess and international megastar, have another reason to rejoice. Spears has turned fashion designer. She has joined hands with Candie’s, the brand Spears models for, to design her own limited edition apparel and accessories collection that will be sold at Kohl's stores and kohls.com starting July 1.
Recounting her experience, Spears says she was involved with the creation of the fashion line - right from meeting with the designers to helping them sketch some of her favorite looks. “My personal style is a mix of comfortable and flirty. I love cute little dresses, but I also love comfy sweaters and jeans,” she said.
Talking about her design assignment, Spears said, “I used a lot of studs and lace because I wanted to make the clothes cool and edgy yet girly.” She says that she has made sure the apparels designed reflect her choices. “I also love jeans, so I had to make sure there were some great pairs in the collection.” Besides, going by Spears choices, big necklaces, earrings, black trench coat are also expected.
And yes, Spears will not be behind in promoting her first designs of her career. She will appear in the national print, TV and online campaign for Kohl’s. It will feature the pop actress wearing the collection along with handwritten notes such as, “You’ll love these jeans!” with the tagline, “Designed by me for you!” The price range of the apparel, handbags and jewelry is expected to be from $14-$78.
