Barack Obama Proved To Be Better Comic Than Jay Leno At White House Correspondents' Dinner
It seems that chat show host Jay Leno has found a new competitor in Barack Obama, as the president went head to head with the much-mocked television star at the White House correspondents' dinner and left Leno behind.
Obama earned more applause than Leno and even made mockery of the comedian. "The only person whose ratings fell more than mine last year is here tonight. It is Jay," said Obama.
Obama and Leno talked about the use of abusing language by Joe Biden at the signing of the healthcare bill to the Arizona immigration row, but Obama simply outclassed the NBC primetime host. Referring to Biden's swearing, Obama said, "Biden talked me into it. He leaned over and he said, 'Mr President this is no ordinary dinner. This is a big (ELECTRONIC BLEEP)in' meal'." Leno responded saying he was worried when Obama was elected that the "the comedy well at the White House had dried up. So thank you for picking Joe Biden."
On Arizona's new anti-immigration law, Obama made comedy at the expense of Arizona senator John McCain and presidential rival, "Unfortunately John McCain couldn't make it. Recently he claimed he had never identified himself as a maverick. And we all know what happens in Arizona when you don't have ID. Adios amigos!" Leno responded, "I got stuck behind the Arizona congressional delegation, luckily all their papers were in order so it wasn't too much of a problem."
The president managed to impress all the people present in the party. The party saw attendance from rich and powerful of the US. Obama also talked about his falling popularity saying Hillary Clinton gave him a pep talk. Around 3,000 guests were present in the party including Hollywood's big name Michael Douglas and Steven Spielberg.
