Apple will give you a New iPad if iPad Batteries discharge

Facing criticism on the irreplaceable batteries in its products, Apple has decided to soften its stance on the iPad. The company, 3 weeks before shipping the tablet has decided to announce an iPad battery replacement program.

The company adds that one cannot get a free battery, in fact, you have to ship an entirely new iPad if the older iPad gets discharged. The service cost will be $99 plus an added $7 shipping fee. You can set up the replacement directly from your phone and it will take a week to receive your new iPad.

However, you can go to an Apple store or an authorized reseller and get your hands on to the new iPad, if the store has the stock. However, there is a flip side too. Apple has stated that apart from the inefficient battery the iPad has to be in good working condition. And, it will be onto the user to store the itunes and the data that was there in some safe place. The company will not take up the responsibility.

This announcement comes at a very interesting time as the iPad is scheduled to be released on April 3rd. It will at least take 3 years for the iPad’s battery to degenerate. If you recharge the battery every 2 to 3 days then the iPad is going to be in fine condition. However the biggest question will be, as now the rate with which Apple is bringing in new versions already, it will be interesting to see in 2012 or 2013 when the 2010 version of the Apple iPad degenerates whether the customer wants the same old version or presumably a new one.
