American Idol 2010 Results April 21: Tim Urban Says Goodbye on Star Studded Idol Gives Back
American Idol season 9 is getting really close to its grand finale and Wednesday night was the 2 hour "Idol Gives Back" fundraising episode which also saw the elimination of ever smiling Tim Urban.
The 20-year-old from Duncanville, Texas famous for his smile, could not get through this week with his performance of "Better Days" by The Goo Goo Dolls on Monday night inspirational music episode.
His singing was pitchy which Simon Cowell called "a little bit of a let down," and Ellen Degeneres said, "sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't."
The bottom three on American Idol last night were Aaron Kelly and Casey James along with Tim Urban - all males.
But all that in the end. The 2 hour show was filled with celebrity appearances and performances beginning with President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama giving a recorded speech about helping others.
Then there were Bill and Melinda Gates encouraging viewers to donate.
Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck, Jim Carrey and Victoria Beckham made appearances. Special mention must be made of the appearance of the Octomom, woman who became famous worldwide by giving birth to octuplets in January 2009. The show was hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Queen Latifah at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
Joss Stone sang with English guitar icon Jeff Beck on "I'll Put a Spell on You" while The Black Eyed Peas performed their latest hit, "Rock That Body,"
Elton John's "Your Song." was the perfect ending of the night.
At the end Simon Cowell announced that $15 million had already been raised.
Now we have our top 6 contestants on American Idol 2010 who next week will be mentored by Shania Twain.
The final 6 Idol hopefuls are Siobhan Magnus, Crystal Bowersox, Lee DeWyze, "Big Mike" Michael Lynche, Aaron Kelly and Casey James.
