UFC 114 results have been very interesting and more so for Rashad Evans. The Rashad vs Rampage fight was highly anticipated and even after the fight has been over for over 2 days, its popularity still remains and the proof lies in the still high demand for Rashad Evans vs Rampage Jackson video from UFC 114 fight.
“My bread and butter is my wrestling, and everything else stems from that.. I felt like I needed to bring [wrestling] back after the Machida fight,” Rashad Evans said about getting back to his roots after his loss to Lyoto Machida.
Despite boos from the crowd, Rashad said he was not looking to take any unnecessary punishment. In the post-fight press conference on Saturday, he said, “It only takes one good shot for the fight to be over. I wasn't trying to take no shots for no amount of boos."
This fight has changed the way Rashad now looks at wrestling. He said Georges St. Pierre went into a similar mindset when Matt Serra beat him.
However, the difference between the two is St. Pierre's ability to do whatever he wants, wherever he wants to do it, whereas, Rashad controls the fight on the cage and not necessarily on the ground.
The challenge awaiting Rashad is his fight with Shogun Rua later this year that will be altogether different. However, before that, he'll have a tough time dealing with Rua and the speed factor that Rampage Jackson did not present.
