Sprint’s Samsung Epic 4G Vs HTC Evo 4G: The 4G Dilemma

Sprint’s Samsung Epic 4G Vs HTC Evo 4G: Sprint is getting ready to release its new Samsung Galaxy S Pro better known as Samsung Epic 4G and I am thinking how much effect the launch of Epic will put on the business of the HTC Evo 4G, the only smartphone with 4G connectivity in the US so far also carried by Sprint. So here is a comparative study to let you know more about these devices and take an informed decision.

Samsung Epic 4G

The Samsung Epic 4G comes loaded with a 5-megapixel camera. It runs Android 2.1 Éclair and has a 1GHz processor. It has an AMOLED display screen and VGA video call front-facing camera. The Epic has a sliding QWERTY keyboard. The Epic 4G has DLNA support, which is an asset for sharing digital photos, video and music. The Epic has the 1500mAH battery capacity and it comes loaded with hotspot capabilities.

HTC Evo 4G

The Evo 4G boasts of a big 4.3 inch screen. It is powered by Android 2.1 and has a front-facing camera and 4G connectivity. Like Epic, the Evo also run on a 1GHz processor. It has a 8-megapixel camera rear camera, high-definition video recorder, HDMI jack, Wi-Fi, 8GB of built-in memory plus a high-capacity microSD card slot. Sprint is the exclusive carrier of the device in the US so far. The camera of Evo is very good and it captures high quality images. Like Epic, Evo also has the 1500mAH battery capacity. It supports hotspot capabilities, but it does not support DLNA.

To conclude, I can say that both devices have some cool features and some shortcomings. Evo’s key strength is its ability to support 4G network but Epic is looking like a worthy competitor and only time will tell, which among the two will race ahead in the war of smartphones.
